During the mid-1980s, the beer company Coors signed a marketing contract with Mazz. This gave Mazz several marketing opportunities across America, which helped to elevate the band’s status.
Mazz toured much of southwest America and other states like California, Florida, and the Pacific. This helped to bring the band more fame, and they later became one of the Tejano musical acts to sell the most records.
Later, the band signed a record deal with CBS records and EMI Latin.
This led to EMI Latin certifying one of Lopez’s records as gold for selling 50,000 units. The same year, a different album sold 75,000 copies in America alone. Between 1978 and 1998, Lopez’s band released 28 albums.
